Post Graduate Department of Physics & Research Centre, Sanatana Dharma College, Alappuzha organises 30 hours (five days) Certificate course on specialized disaster management training for UG students of S.D College in collaboration with District administration, Alappuzha and Kerala Youth Leadership Academy (KYLA), Government of Kerala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the course is to provide basic conceptual understanding of disasters and to build skills to respond. Currently, students have only
a theory course on Disaster management as part of their UG Curriculum. However, through this certificate course, students will be able to get sufficient practical training to deal with real life situations. The course also
targets to instill leadership skills in youth to respond to crisis situations.
The 5 days course will include theory and practice sessions on the following modules<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Volunteering \u2013 The call of service<\/li>
  2. Leadership & decision making<\/li>
  3. Emergency response survival equipment awareness<\/li>
  4. Camp setting, first aid assistance & basic life support<\/li>
  5. Incident management & response<\/li>
  6. Map reading\/communication<\/li>
  7. Field engineering & field craft<\/li>
  8. HRM during emergencies<\/li>
  9. Improvised resource management<\/li>
  10. Social service & field visit<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
